Presentation of the “Victory Road” Project Dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the April Battles Supported by Veysəloğlu Group of Companies

On April 2, within the framework of the general grant competition announced by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan for non-governmental organizations, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, organized by the “Victory” Public Union for Support of Martyrs' Families, sponsored by Veysəloğlu Group of Companies, and with the media partnership of Culture TV, the presentation of the “Victory Road” project dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the April battles was held. The event, held at the Academic National Drama Theater, was attended by state and government officials, members of the National Assembly, families of martyrs and veterans, intellectuals, representatives of youth organizations, volunteer youth, the public, and media representatives. Speaking at the event, Sevinc Orucova, wife of the April battles martyr, Lieutenant Colonel Raguf Orucov, nicknamed “Murov Eagle,” and chairperson of the “Victory” Public Union for Support of Martyrs' Families, noted that the glorious path begun by the Azerbaijani Army in the April battles later culminated in a great victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. The Azerbaijani soldier, advancing along the path opened by the heroes of the April battles, duly continued their mission, ensuring the liberation of our lands and avenging the martyrs. In this regard, the April battles hold special significance as the beginning of the path leading to victory in our modern history. At the literary and artistic evening, speeches were delivered by Farid Jafarov, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Ilgar Nuri, Deputy CEO of Veysəloğlu Group of Companies; Ziba Asgarova, mother of April battles martyr Nurlan Asgarov and Patriotic War martyr Intiqam Asgarov; and Zeynab Bayramova, mother of First Karabakh War martyr Mehman Bayramov and April battles martyr Captain Vagif Bayramov. During his speech, Ilgar Nuri, Deputy CEO of Veysəloğlu Group of Companies, named each of the 90 heroes who were martyred in the April battles. This moving moment created a special emotional atmosphere in the hall and was met with deep respect by the participants. The speakers emphasized that the April battles marked the beginning of the great victory achieved by the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev, and they paid deep respect to the cherished memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland. At the end of the event, a literary and artistic composition titled “Museum of Memories,” dedicated to the dear and unforgettable memory of the martyrs, was presented with the participation of renowned artists. The composition was based on the real-life stories of heroes who reached the pinnacle of martyrdom in the April battles. The idea author of the composition is Sevinc Orucova, the scriptwriter is Ilgar Fahmi, Secretary for Creative Affairs of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union and poet-writer, and the director is Honored Artist Nicat Kazimov.
